Monte Sereno is located in the foothills of Santa Cruz Mountains only around 10 miles southwest of San Jose and just a tad northwest of Los Gatos. Monte Sereno is named after the El Sereno Mountain with southern portions of the city built on the mountain.

All of Monte Sereno is a residential community with public services served by the town of Los Gatos, which includes the Los Gatos Unified School District, the Los Gatos Police Department and the Los Gatos Parks and Recreation Department.

The majority of the homes are built on half-acre lots and of course are not your less expensive dwellings. Prices for homes in the area have fell a small crunch along with areas throughout the US, however, homes in Monte Sereno do not stay on the market long with prices on average at $525,000 for a condominium.
